The Division of Forestry will begin collecting Christmas trees on Monday, January 10, 2021. To participate in this free service, residents must follow these guidelines:

  1. Real trees only must be placed on the boulevard by 7:00 am on the scheduled pick-up day.
  2. Do not place trees in the street. This is considered a violation of the city ordinance 531.03 Littering.
  3. All decorative items must be removed. This includes bulbs, garland, tinsel, tree stands, etc.

Residents may also drop-off their trees from January 10 – January 14 at two (2) locations: the Shelby Street Boat Launch overflow parking lot or the Kiwanis Park parking lot. Once the City’s scheduled pick-up days have ended, it is residents’ responsibility to dispose of their own trees.
