The City of Sandusky’s Assistant City Manager, Fire Chief and Law Director have completed a review of the Rules and Regulations of the Civil Service Commission.  Upon this review the following amendments are being proposed for section 8.02 Original Appointment Credits:
 C. Firefighter Original Appointment Credit
A person who prior to the date of the examination has a current Firefighter II certification shall receive additional credit of ten percent (10%) of his/her total grade given in the regular examination, provided that he/she receive a passing grade.
 
A person who prior to the date of the examination has an Emergency Medical Technician (“EMT”) certification shall receive additional credit of ten percent (10%) of his/her total grade given in the regular examination, provided that he/she receive a passing grade.
 
A person who prior to the date of examination has a Paramedic certification shall receive additional credit of ten percent (10%) of his/her total grade given in the regular examination, provided that he/she receive a passing grade.

The proposed amendments to the rules and regulations will be available to the citizens of Sandusky to review at the following locations: 
  • City of Sandusky Website
  • Administrative Services Office
  • Sandusky Public Library
The proposed amendments to the Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations for the City of Sandusky will be on the Civil Service hearing agenda set for Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 3:30 a.m. in the 1st floor conference room at City Hall.
