Working alongside the Sandusky Tree Commission, this Division helps to educate and inform city residents about the proper care and selection of trees and shrubs.
In 2011, Sandusky was recognized for the 21st consecutive year as a Tree City U.S.A. [Disclaimer] by the National Arbor Day Foundation [Disclaimer]. This prestigious national award program recognizes communities that effectively manage their public tree resources.
Sandusky works hand in hand with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Forestry Division[Disclaimer], in maintaining and preserving our urban trees.
