MurrayDennis E. Murray, Jr. - President

Dennis has been a trial lawyer with the local law firm of Murray & Murray Co., L.P.A.since 1987.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University (magna cum laude) and a law degree from Georgetown University Law School (cum laude).

Dennis previously represented Sandusky as a City Commissioner from 2006 – 2008, serving as President in 2008. He was then elected to the Ohio Ohio House of Representativesfrom 2009 – 2012. Dennis currently serves as a member of the Ohio Constitutional Modernization Commission and the Board of Directors of Sandusky-based Citizens Banking Company.

Dennis and his wife Martha have four children and are proudly active with the Sandusky City Schools and the Sandusky Catholiccommunity in various capacities.

Dick was born and raised in Sandusky, where he has been a business owner for 34 years. He is the President of Brady Electric, Inc. and Brady Sign Company. In addition, he has

developed and actively manages commercial and multi-family residential properties in Sandusky and Perkins Township.

Dick graduated from St. Mary Central Catholic High School and from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration. He and his wife, Debra, have three adult children.

Julie A. Farrar

Julie is a native Sanduskian and a graduate of Sandusky High School.  She initially became involved with city government in 2000 when she was appointed as a member, and subsequently the Chairperson, of the Sandusky Recreation Board.

From 2004 - 2007, Julie served on the Sandusky Board of Education.  She holds a Certification from North Central Technical College in activity therapy and is employed by the Ohio Veterans Home as an Activity Therapist.  

Julie is married and has two children.

Scott was sworn in on March 10, 2014.

Scott has spent the majority of his professional career in public service, working in city and county government in Colorado and Ohio. Scott has also served in the non-profit sector as Director of the Oberlin Main Street and Chamber of Commerce, and he currently serves as Executive Director of the Erie County Land Reutilization Corporation.

Scott graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology

Scott is married to Wendy Kromer-Schell, owner of Wendy Kromer Confections, in downtown Sandusky.

Wes is a lifelong resident of Sandusky and a graduate of Sandusky High School and Bowling Green State University.

Wes worked for Firelands Regional Medical Center for 37 years and also retired at the rank of Major from the Ohio Army National Guard. He has been involved in the workings of local government for several years, was a member of the 2010 Charter Review Committee and is a graduate of Leadership Erie County.

SmithJeffrey S. Smith

Jeff is a lifelong resident of Sandusky and is a 1991 graduate of St. Mary Central Catholic High School.

From 1991 through 1997, Jeff served his country in the United States Marine Corps reaching the rank of Sergeant.

As a member of Local 42 - Plumbers and Pipefitters, Jeff is a Journeyman Steamfitter. In 2002, Jeff and his wife, Jenny, started The Better Half Restaurant and shortly after, opened Joe Sundae Ice Cream & Coffee Shop. Jeff also co-founded Sandusky Hardware; he and his partner share the duties of operation.

Jeff and Jenny have three children, sons Peyton and Trace and daughter, Autumn.

Naomi was born and raised in Sandusky.  She is a graduate of Sandusky High School and recipient of the Girl’s Achievement Award, the highest award for a SHS female graduate in 1981.  Naomi holds an Associate of Arts degree in Pre-Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati, Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Bowling Green State University, and a Master of Arts degree in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University.  Naomi also earned a certificate from Bowling Green State University – Firelands for successfully completing the Public Officials Leadership Academy.

Naomi has been engaged and volunteering in the community for a number of years starting in the early 2000’s as member and Vice President of the Sandusky Underground Railroad Education Center.  From that experience, Naomi became more involved with city government by serving on the 2010 Charter Review Committee.  After that committee’s mission was fulfilled, Naomi was appointed member and subsequently Chairman of the Human Relations Commission where she developed a set of Bylaws and Policy/Procedure for addressing issues.

Naomi is employed by the Ohio Veterans Home as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and she is the Equal Employment Opportunity Officer.   Naomi is the mother of one adult daughter.
